Job description

We are looking for a Democratic Services Advisor to join our friendly, dedicated Democratic Services Team.

This is a permanent, full-time role, based in our central Wellington office.About the role : The Democratic Services Team provides accurate and timely governance advice and support to Council and Committee members and Council officers.As one of two Democratic Services Advisors, you will be involved in every aspect of Council and Committee meetings, from setting up the room to taking minutes and writing reports.

You will champion official information best practice at Greater Wellington, ensuring responses to requests are timely and consistent with legislative requirements.

You will also assist with Council elections and contribute to the induction programme to support newly elected Councillors.Skills and experience required : You will be someone with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of Council staff, elected members, and the public.
