We’re looking for a two full-time Lifeguards to join our team at the Wanaka Recreation Centre on a permanent basis. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the community by promoting water safety and providing assistance to swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi
As a Health & Fitness Aquatics crew member your role will be to ensure QLDC deliver an excellent health and safety environment, most importantly but not limited to aquatic supervision, hazard management and water rescue scenarios. You will also be assisting the retention and growth of memberships and / or general users by providing a welcoming facility with fun and exciting opportunities.

What you’ll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka
You will have a minimum of 1 year experience in the supervision of aquatic activities and knowledge of aquatic facility activities. You will be a confident swimmer and able to swim 200m continuously and competently in less than 6 minutes (preferred in less than 4 minutes and 30 seconds) and can competently complete 25m sidestroke, 50m Breaststroke, 5 mins treading water and you must be able to recover an object form the deepest part of the facility.
