You will oversee the entire production cycle, from concept development to episode publication, ensuring each story is both compelling and accurate. The position requires close collaboration with the host to shape clear, powerful narratives, manage technical production, and uphold the highest journalistic standards. Your expertise will help bring complex, real-life stories to listeners in a way that is both engaging and sensitive to the subject matter.
Deliverables
- Develop and manage the full production cycle for each podcast episode, including pre-production planning, recording, editing, and post-production.
- Coordinate with the host to shape episode narratives grounded in accurate and ethical true crime reporting.
- Oversee interviews, field recordings, and sourcing of archival audio.
- Handle technical tasks such as audio cleanup, mixing, leveling, and quality control prior to release.
- Manage production calendars, track deadlines, and maintain transparent communication throughout the process.
- Collaborate on the creation of promotional clips, trailers, and episode releases.
- Ensure all content aligns with legal, ethical, and journalistic standards, with particular attention to victim sensitivity and case accuracy.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of podcast production or equivalent audio storytelling experience.Strong proficiency with audio editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Audition, Reaper).Demonstrated experience producing narrative or documentary-style podcasts, preferably in the true crime or investigative genre.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Knowledge of digital publishing platforms and RSS feed management is a plus.Background in journalism, criminal justice, or psychology is highly desirable.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.Commitment to ethical storytelling and sensitivity to victims and survivors.About Twine
