About the business

Waikato Regional Airport Limited (WRAL) is home to the fourth longest commercial runway in New Zealand and proudly serves as the gateway to the Mighty Waikato.

About the role

We are seeking a strategic and commercially astute Group General Manager - Aeronautical Growth & Marketing to lead WRAL's aviation and marketing strategy.

In this role, you will :

Coordinate air service development and route growth in partnership with airlines and government with the support & guidance of the Executive Leadership Team.

Build strategic partnerships to support tourism, trade, freight, and education.

Ensure the Group's marketing strategy and brand presence is aligned across all channels.

Champion customer experience and digital innovation across Aeronautical & Property services.

Support sustainability and ESG principles into Group commercial strategies.

Provide high-level reporting and insights to the CE and Board.

Skills and experience

Our ideal candidate will have :

Proven experience in aviation, tourism, or infrastructure sectors.

Strong business / commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.

A track record in strategic planning, route development, and marketing leadership.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

A relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing, or commerce (Master's preferred).
