About the Role
Permanent full-time position based at the Kapuni Water Treatment Plant.
You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of 10 water supplies across the district to ensure a reliable and high-quality supply of potable water to the communities of South Taranaki.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain raw water sources, treatment facilities and reservoirs.
Monitor, calibrate sensors and use control systems to maintain optimum performance.
Ensure the functionality of pumps, motors and automated valves.
Diagnose faults and repair electrical components and mechanical systems.
Prepare maintenance programmes and keep detailed records of raw water sources, intakes, mains, treatment plants, pumping stations and reservoirs.
Develop and maintain sampling programmes to comply with Drinking Water Standards and the Quality Assurance Rules.
Participate in a roster system with flexible hours, minimum 40 hours per week, call-outs and overnight duties.
Support compliance monitoring and reporting to meet the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules and relevant Resource Consents.
Qualifications & Skills
National Certificate in Water Treatment – Site Operator and / or National Diploma in Water Treatment – Site Technician.
Good grasp of modern technology, instrumentation and mechanical / electrical systems.
High working knowledge of Drinking Water Standards, health and safety legislation and best practice.
Clean, full or restricted valid driver's licence.
Willingness to work flexible hours, 40 hours per week and participate in a roster system.
Can-do attitude, adaptability and strong communication skills.
Benefits & Development
Competitive salary – $62,910 pa to $80,100 pa.
Additional roster compensation – $10,000 to $12,000 pa.
