Working across the Discover Waitomo business at Waitomo Glowworm Caves and Black Water Rafting you will need to have a well-rounded understanding of our world-famous products on offer to our manuhiri (visitors).

Objective / Purpose :
Lead our cleaning team to maintain the resources administered or owned by Tourism Holdings Limited and Discover Waitomo in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
Ensure all public areas are clean and tidy during operating hours.
Scope :
Work closely with the Guide Manager and other cleaners within the services team to achieve a clean and tidy environment at all times.
Requirements : Key Criteria :
Current driver's license
First Aid qualification (Level 1) an advantage
Knowledge of Tikanga and Te Ao Maori an advantage
Ability to engage and relate to visitors from diverse cultures
Excellent personal presentation, professionalism, and interpretation skills
Full of energy and a team player
Available to work in a 7-day operation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven people leadership
Actively participate in the thl Health and Safety system
Set priorities and manage time effectively
Work diligently for your employer
Physical Requirements :
General level of overall fitness
Responsibilities :
Liaise with the Manager daily regarding current tasks and assist in planning future tasks.
Train all new staff and current staff as required.
Carry out regular spot checks on staff and record their progress.
Ensure that work policies and procedures are adhered to by staff.
Act as a communication conduit between management and staff.
Maintain and control the use of stock, equipment, and consumables.
Request the timely purchase of consumables, equipment, and materials.
Monitor and report absenteeism to the Manager.
Actively promote Health and Safety and report any breaches directly to the Manager.
Ensure that all staff wear appropriate PPE.
Check all equipment that requires replacement items as needed.
Report faulty equipment to the Manager within 12 hours of breakdown.
Ensure cleaning standards are met and maintained in all facilities and report shortcomings / faults to the Manager.
Monitor standards and compliance of work performed by team members.
Monitor and assist in planning for holiday work requirements (bi / annual cleaning work).
Perform other duties and work with members of other teams as required.
