We’re looking for a Parking Designer to join our Parking Design and Solutions team. This permanent role offers the chance to contribute to AT’s strategic goals and make a meaningful difference in how Auckland moves.
- Deliver AT’s Parking Strategy across the region, acting as the centre of excellence for parking management
- Lead parking management investigations (proactive and reactive) in allocated wards
- Design and commission parking occupancy surveys, and manage procurement for physical work
- Prepare written reports and presentations supporting proposed changes
- Provide subject matter expertise for resource consent referrals and projects impacting parking
- Drive parking change projects to meet community needs and expectations
- Research parking innovations and stay up to date with global best practice
- Engage with business associations and community groups on parking issues and proposals

As a seasoned professional, you’ll bring experience working in large-scale, performance‑driven environments. You’ll also bring :
- A tertiary qualification in transport engineering, planning, business management, project management or similar (required)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in delivery of change; local government experience preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build effective networks and relationships
- Highly organised, self‑motivated, and able to prioritise effectively
- Strong initiative, judgement, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Personal resilience and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work across functional and team boundaries to achieve outcomes
