OverviewEast Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation TrustCritical Care Rehabilitation Nurse SpecialistThe closing date is 03 October 2025An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Critical Care Rehabilitation Practitioner based at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital; the post holder will be responsible for overseeing the Critical Care rehabilitation team involving setting up and leading outpatient clinics with a dedicated critical care MDT.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.

They will manage discrete aspects of a patient's care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, within their current level of practice and patient group, aligned to the four pillars of practice and aligned to Trust policy, 'Enhanced, Advanced and Consultant Level Practice- Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).

'The post holder will contribute to nursing / midwifery / AHP practice to improve the quality of care to patients.Job responsibilitiesPlease access the full Job Description and Person Specification located in Documents to download.If you have further queries please contact the line manager using the contact details below.Person SpecificationSkills and experienceSignificant postgraduate healthcare experience demonstrating professional development across the four pillars of practice.Significant experience of care in critical care.Experience of working with patients / service users to resolve concerns and improve their experience.Evidence of effective networkingExperience of supervising staff and delivering trainingPost graduate qualification in counselling and clinical assessmentExperience of presenting to groups of staff / publicPersonal / professional attributesLeading in quality improvement project within clinical specialityEvidence of delivering education and training to individuals or groupsQualificationsCurrent NMC / HCPC registration.Degree in nursing or working towards degree or equivalentPreparation of mentors or equivalentEvidence of continuing professional development within Critical Care Practice.Master\'s degree or working towards this qualificationAdvanced practice or Masters / L7 programme commencedOtherFlexibility in working patterns to meet the needs of the serviceAwareness of and adherence to the organisations vision, mission and valuesCommitment to equity and diversitySelf-motivated, positive, adaptable and flexible approachKnowledge of best practice, key issues within rehabilitation programmesGovernanceUnderstanding of quality governance, patient safety and patient experience tools to support clinical practice and service improvement.Sound knowledge and understanding of national and local policy and guidanceUtilisation of clinical effectiveness tools to deliver quality improvement e.g. risk management and clinical audit.Evidence of innovative practice utilising research and audit.Experience of contributing to quality improvement in safety / quality improvement projects.Experience of writing reports and presenting to teams or small groupsExperience in audit and clinical data collectionDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust£47,810 to £54,710 a year pro rata per annum
