The Integrated Data System is a key project under this organisation to Deliver 2030 Programme, developing a high quality, consistent, and connected set of populations across three core data domains (Business, Place and People) underpinning the future of New Zealand’s official system.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the SBR workstream, ensuring alignment with programme goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with statistical, technical, and business experts to develop and apply new statistical methodologies on a modern cloud-based platform.
- Oversee the creation of an enduring asset that enables linkage and understanding of New Zealand businesses and their relationships to people and places—supporting use cases such as the Census.
- Manage project planning, risk, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across internal and external partners.
- Support the transition of teams to new technology platforms, ensuring adoption of best practices in development and data lifecycle management.
- Champion agile and iterative delivery approaches, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Proven experience in leading complex data or technology projects, ideally within government or statistical environments.Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.Familiarity with statistical systems, data integration, and cloud-based platforms is highly desirable.Experience in managing cross-functional teams and navigating change in dynamic environments.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Knowledge of software development lifecycles and modern development practices.Contract details
