Wesley College, a school with a proud tradition of academic excellence, social justice, and service, invites applications for the role of learning support coordinator (LSC) . This is a pivotal role in ensuring every ākonga thrives through inclusive and culturally responsive support systems.

About the role

As our LSC, you will lead the coordination of learning support for students with diverse learning needs across the school. This includes students who are neurodivergent, those with learning disabilities, behavioural needs, or requiring gifted and talented extensions. The LSC works closely with teachers, whānau, specialist agencies, and leadership to ensure a coherent approach to support.

You will :

• Coordinate targeted interventions and programmes for identified learners.
• Support teachers to design and implement differentiated teaching strategies.
• Lead professional development and build teacher capability in inclusive practice.
• Work in partnership with parents, caregivers and wider whānau to plan and monitor learning support plans.
• Collaborate with external agencies such as Resource Teachers : Learning and Behaviour (RTLB), Ministry of Education Learning Support, and others.
• Support transition pathways for students into, within, and beyond school.
