Clinical Nurse Specialist - Neonatal Outreach Service

0.6FTE (24 hrs a week) permanent position

Based at Christchurch Health Campus

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Neonatal Outreach team.

This is a senior nursing role, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Neonatal Outreach Nurse, providing outreach care for the families within the service which also includes programmes such as the DOTs (Discharge on Tube support programme).

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse who is dynamic, motivated, a quick learner and with a proven ability to communicate effectively and form positive working relationships at all levels, including community settings.

As a CNS Neonatal Outreach Nurse, you will require a sound knowledge around discharge processes, infant feeding, neonatal abstinence and the promotion of family integrated care to be considered for this role.

About You

As a CNS Neonatal Outreach Nurse, you will be a clinical leader and a role model for nursing staff.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate :

Clinical experience and understanding working across all levels of neonatal care.

Advanced problem solving and assessment skills.

High standard of clinical knowledge and proficiency.

Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a large multidisciplinary team and autonomously.

Effective time management.

Proven ability to offer leadership and education.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a wide range of people and build strong effective relationships with families and stakeholders.

Advanced understanding of and proven commitment to working in partnership with our service users, their families / whanau and other health service providers in the community.
