As the AYARadiation Therapy Specialist, you will lead the coordination and delivery ofhigh-quality, age-appropriate radiotherapy across the treatment continuum.You will champion the developmentand implementation of AYA-specific pathways, ensuring alignment with nationalstandards and responsiveness to the unique needs of young people and theirwhanau.

This role also involves providing clinical education, fostering aculture of learning, and maintaining strong multidisciplinary relationshipslocally, regionally, and nationally.This is a multi-role shared with the responsibilities of a StaffRadiation Therapist duties.Key ResponsibilitiesLead andmaintain the AYA Radiation Oncology service in accordance with AYANational Standards.Developand refine AYA-specific care pathways and service models.Provideage-appropriate communication, care planning, and referrals to alliedhealth and support services.Supportand mentor AYA treatment champions to integrate AYA-focused care acrossthe service.Identifyand address barriers to care, implementing strategies to reduceinequities.Advocatefor timely, culturally responsive, and adaptive support for AYA patientswithin complex hospital systems.Fostercollaborative relationships across oncology teams and with communitypartners.SupportAYA-related clinical trials and ensure adherence to associated protocols.About the TeamAt the Canterbury Regional Cancer and Haematology Service, we are committed to deliveringinnovative, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate care for ourAdolescent and Young Adult (AYA) patients.
