Overview
We are looking for a confident and passionate Restaurant Manager or Duty Manager to lead our Indian Restaurant at Taranaki. You will ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations that underpin a seamless customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Operational Management : manage daily operations to ensure efficient and smooth service.
- Plan, coordinate, and organize special functions.
- Take customer reservations and allocate seating.
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist in taking orders during busy periods.
- Staff Management : ensure all staff adhere to food safety, hygiene, and service standards.
- Customer Service : oversee the delivery of high‑quality customer service; address and resolve complaints professionally; ensure guests have a positive dining experience from entry to exit.
- Financial and Inventory Control : monitor and manage budgets, sales targets, and operating costs; maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage supplier relationships; prepare and present financial and operational reports.
- Compliance and Safety : ensure compliance with legislation, food safety, health & safety, employment law, and liquor licensing regulations; maintain permits and licenses; conduct routine inspections and audits.
- Chef Responsibilities : assist the Head Chef with menu planning; examine food quality; regulate temperatures of equipment; cook high‑quality Indian curries, breads, and snacks; season food; portion and garnish dishes; store food safely; prepare special dietary items; keep kitchen clean and compliant with hygiene rules; provide stock schedules; assist with training kitchen staff; maintain Food Control Plan; report to the Head Chef.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in Hospitality environment.LCQ or Duty Manager Certificate.Experience with Indian cuisine as a chef.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Knowledge of financial and inventory management.Understanding of health & safety and licensing requirements.Compensation and Hours
Minimum wage rate $25 an hour; maximum $33 an hour. Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.
