The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi :

Equip is looking for a New Zealand Registered Health Professional to lead a team of qualified health practitioners and support worker staff based in our mobile community. Equip’s Community Support Hours service is an intensive and flexible mobile support service for adults aged 18 years and over who experience mental health issues. The service provides wrap around support to suit the needs of the individual living in the Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Waitematā catchment area.

The successful applicant for this Team Leader position will be based at the Equip Headquarters in Mairangi Bay and will be employed 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with an occasional on-call roster shift. The Team Leader will need to have a holistic focus and the people skills to support staff working alongside people in their recovery. They will also be an active member of a group of Team Leaders and undertake projects from time to time.

Primary Objectives for the Role :

  • Establish and maintain two high performing teams, working well as individuals and as a cohesive team.
  • The position requires a commitment to understanding and applying the principles and values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Assist in managing financial, quality, administrative and operating systems.
  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the delivery of services to tangata whaiora
  • Develop and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with Clinical Teams who refer guests to the Service.
  • Supervise and manage the performance of Kaimahi.
  • Ensure a safe and effective service operation
  • Be a contributing member of the management group and the Equip organisation
  • You | Mōu :

  • New Zealand Registered Health Professional.
  • Sound clinical judgement
  • Comprehensive leadership skills.
  • Previous experience in Mental Health sector is advantageous.
  • Ability to build rapport and empathize with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • An interest in Māori and Pasifika people’s customs and cultural norms.
  • Have a passion for mentoring others.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong technology skills. Must be experienced in using Microsoft Office products and familiar with databases.
  • A clean full NZ driver license.
  • NZ resident or a valid NZ work visa.
