Stellar Recruitment are partnered with an established Australian QS / PM and Engineering Consultancy under a period of high growth - who are opening an office in Auckland in the New Year.
The role is large scale civil infrastructure projects - road, rail, bridges - not subdivisions or land development.
We are seeking 2x Estimators to join as foundational hires for the New Zealand office. They will report to the Director who will also be based in New Zealand.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of something new, and growing, in a dynamic fast paced consultancy environment.
The role will be 3 days in office, 2 days work from home.
There is scope for one of the roles to be an Engineer who has worked on the pre-construction side previously - this role could be more involved in the delivery of projects rather than the estimation side.
The core responsibility of the role will involve delivering work on projects for govt and council assets.
First Principles estimating experience is essential.
- We are considering Estimators from White Collar Contracting, and Consultancy backgrounds.
- We are conducting interviews this side of Christmas for January start dates.
- NZ / Australian experience is essential for local knowledge.
Responsibilities (Quick Overview)
Lead and deliver pre- and post-contract activities across single or multiple projects, providing technical oversight and high-quality outputs.Take ownership of discipline-specific tasks such as estimating, project planning and client reporting.Coordinate projects efficiently, ensuring clarity of scope, accuracy of work, and effective communication of workload and deadlines.Engage with clients professionally, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery.Contribute to business development through networking, cross-selling opportunities, and promoting internal knowledge sharing.Work autonomously to meet time, cost and quality targets, including forecasting effort, cost, and revenue.Demonstrate strong commercial awareness, including variation identification and management of subconsultant inputs.Uphold professional values including integrity, reliability, adaptability, and inclusiveness.Maintain proficiency in key software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, CostX) and hold a relevant degree-level qualificationFor more information about the role, the company, and the full job spec - get in touch at mark.h@stellarrecruitment.co.nz for a confidential chat.
