About the Role
We have the opportunity available to join the National Public Health Service (NPHS) Prevention Directorate as a Principal Analyst in the National Cancer Screening Programmes team. This is a fixed term, full-time role.
Principal Analysts are senior roles in Health NZ, with strong subject matter expertise, writing and relationship skills and capable of leading a portfolio of work. This role is specific to providing leadership, oversight and direction on key pieces of work that will deliver on :
You will play a leading role in the development of technical and data-related advice for BreastScreen Aotearoa (in terms of supporting Te Puna rollout), additional screening programmes, and the Prevention Directorate, and the wider organisation as a whole, to contribute to the agenda-setting activities of Health NZ and other agencies, particularly those with policy-setting responsibilities for Health.

About you
You are someone with relevant experience in delivering data warehousing and enabling a broad range of analyses, reports and data visualisations. Seen as a thought leader and seasoned professional, you bring experience in the operationalisation of analytical tooling and process to realise business value.
You're equipped with strong communication skills, with experience in using data storytelling and translating complex and technical information into clear and understandable language for non-technical audiences. You feel comfortable working in fast-paced and variable work environments. You're able to apply critical thinking and use sound judgement to develop options, effectively communicate them, and provide valuable advice.
