Overview

I’m recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer to join a national contractor delivering critical transport and electrical infrastructure across Christchurch. This is a hands‑on, operations‑driven position where you’ll lead a team of electricians, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure traffic‑signal and intersection projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to spec.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering intersection upgrades, signal maintenance runs, and project works
  • Leading RAMS, toolbox talks and reinforcing a strong safety culture
  • Maintain strong communication with council teams, designers, civil crews, and traffic management
  • Managing daily sequencing, resourcing and documentation
  • Assisting with pricing, variations and tracking project costs
  • Supporting testing, commissioning & as‑built documentation

    • What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in New Zealand delivering electrical / civil projects or site coordination
  • Proven experience managing teams or crews
  • Strong electrical background (trade or engineering qualification)
  • Hands‑on onsite leadership (RAMS, toolbox talks, safety‑led delivery)
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Experience working with subcontractors, councils, and local standards
  • New Zealand working rights
