Applications are sought for full-time administration officers who will support the Waitemata District Investigation Support Unit (ISU).

The ISU works in close partnership with the retail sector and is responsible for the triage and timely investigations of volume crime files to support Area-based investigations and priorities.

The unit also provide guidance to retail shop owners to prevent or limit future crime occurring

This is a great opportunity to be part of a small highly driven team and spirited team that delivers quality support service to the Waitemata District.

You will be assisting with the gathering of evidence, and collating volume crime files, to enable the apprehension of the suspects.

The successful applicant will need to have a victim focused mindset and a passion for delivering an exceptional service.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Fostering and maintaining effective partnerships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Problem solving, excellent communicator and a can-do mindset.
  • Prioritising workflow and mange time effectively to complete multiple files and meet deadlines
  • Decision Making – Ability to manage sensitive investigations and make sound decisions
  • Obtaining evidence including CCTV and imagery.
  • Requesting and reviewing statements from victims and witnesses.

    Prepare investigation files for volume crime offending, including online fraud complaints.

    Files can range from basic petrol thefts to complex fraud.

  • Producing quality investigation files for Operational staff to act on.
  • You will gain skills in; file management, file preparation and learn to use several of the online platforms available to investigators.

    Additional Information

    We have positions based at both Henderson and North Shore Policing Centre, Waitemata.

    Hours are Monday – Friday.

    Applicants must have New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or Permanent New Zealand Residency.

    Successful applicant must reside in Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland).

    Previous policing investigative knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

    A sound knowledge of computer applications, in particular, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.

    This role is Individual Contributor / Emerging Leader level.

    Utu a-tau | Salary

    This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $63,527 and $66,312 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
