Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features. Trev is building a cross-platform React Native mobile app to complement our web platform, focused on farming data, productivity, sustainability and profitability.

In this role, you’ll report to our CTO and be part of a collaborative, curious team. This is a full-time, permanent position and can be based remotely around Waikato or Auckland, with occasional office visits a couple of times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and reliable mobile applications for iOS / Android using React Native.
  • Participate in the entire mobile application development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, testing, and release.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the CTO to define, design, and implement new mobile features and ensure smooth integration into the product.
  • Conduct thorough testing across devices and platforms to ensure a high-quality user experience with each release.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues.
  • Own and maintain CI / CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Help transition legacy applications to align with current product and development strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with mobile development trends and technologies, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience as a Mobile Developer, with a portfolio of mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in mobile development for iOS & Android using React Native.
  • Knowledge of CI / CD practices (experience with Expo is a plus).
  • Experience in a greenfield or startup environment is a plus.
