Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the successful execution of jobs and service delivery within the waste and industrial divisions, ensuring all customer requirements are met or exceeded with a focus on quality, safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role is critical in delivering operational excellence through the effective coordination and utilisation of team members and plant resources, ensuring jobs are completed to scope, on time, and within budget.
Working closely with your team, you will provide clear local direction and leadership to maintain high standards of job performance and client satisfaction, while fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment. You will drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to increase operational performance, cost control, and labour productivity. Additionally, you will support the business\'s strategic growth by ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and legislative requirements, and contributing to the overall goals of the Company. Your ability to respond to project challenges, lead your team, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders will be vital to the role\'s success.

What we\'re Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Operations, Business, Management field or relevant industry experience
- Full, clean, and current driver\'s license
- Computer skills to an intermediate level
- Has applied knowledge on project and operations management with positive results
- Strong knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental legislation
Preferred but Not Essential
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Manual Handling Training Certificate
- Experience in D365
- Class 4 Drivers License
- Exposure and knowledge of comprehensive safety management systems including Hazard Analysis
Duties
- Direct, develop and execute strategic objectives relevant to each specific operation.
- Lead, manage, and support all waste and industrial operations to meet service, safety, and compliance targets.
- Lead your team, Specialist Services and/or Support functions to complete work to scope, plans and budgets.
- Oversee the activities of team members, contractors, sub- contractors, etc. to deliver outcomes as per agreements.
- Support your manager with company compliance and relevant legislation (e.g., resource management requirements, consents, compliance, certifications, etc.).
- Monitor, analyse and adjust (if necessary) pathways and prioritise around issues and conflicts.
- Ensure records, reports, etc., are filed in accordance with legislative requirements and policy.
- Manage issues and activities appropriately.
- Support your manager with financial and management audit, compliance activities and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to maintaining awareness of issues and trends affecting the industry
- Responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the region, including compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Manage and optimize Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and ensure the financial health and sustainability of the business.
- Forecast revenue and expenses to ensure business targets are met.
- Implement processes to monitor and control operating costs, ensuring that spending stays within budgetary limits.
- Evaluate and manage overhead costs, labor costs, plant utilization and other expenditures to improve profitability
- Design and implement effective sales strategies that align with the division\'s objectives and broader business goals.
- Cultivate relationships with potential clients and partners to build a robust sales pipeline.
- Management of waste operations, including the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and regulated materials, while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of environmental responsibility, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Treating and processing waste products in accordance with established treatment procedures and environmental regulations.
- Supporting the development and optimisation of treatment processes for a variety of waste streams.
- Ensuring all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, including the operation and management of resource consents associated with the waste facility.
- Stay updated on chemical handling practices, safety protocols, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure all work practices are conducted safely and efficiently in accordance with OHS regulations.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Monitor operations against performance targets.
- Oversee budgets alignments with agreed outcomes and deliverables.
- Support your manager with procurement of plant, materials, and supplies.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Negotiate and source opportunities for best priced materials and supplies.
- Compile risk management functions for operations and manage regular risk assessments and resolutions.
- Identify and establish new revenue streams.
- Ensure team members operate within authorised delegations.
- Implement a team members resources management plan relative to deliverables and needs.
- Negotiate, schedule, and facilitate movements of team members resources across projects.
- Assist in the recruitment, training and/or development of team members to compliance and operational needs.
- Identify key positions for succession.
- Facilitate leadership and mentoring to team members.
- Support and oversee team performance to ensure alignment with expectations and goals.
- Develop new and strengthen existing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, community partners, and regulatory bodies, to support operational excellence and business growth.
- Implement business continuity through succession training of identified talented team members.
- Manage and foster a network of relationships to enhance Company standing and reputation with businesses, shareholders, community, and customer stakeholders.
- Ensure stakeholders are informed and comply with relevant health & safety and environmental legislation and Company policy when working on projects under Company management.
- Maintaining the continued loyalty of the Company\'s clientele by providing superior service
- Oversee the proper use and regular maintenance of all equipment to ensure operational efficiency, safety compliance, and longevity of assets.
- Ensure all tools and machinery under team use are routinely inspected, well-maintained, and securely stored after use, promoting a safe and organized work environment.
- Implement and monitor preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and support continuous operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain workstation and office to appropriate standards.
- Schedule and facilitate policy and procedure reviews.
- Support and adhere to Company\'s Safety policies and procedures.
- Look after Company equipment and assets to protect from damage and theft
