OverviewFull time, fixed term position for Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, English.

3MU and 1MMA.

This role is to lead and oversee the English learning area while the current Head of English is on study leave.

Start date : 28 / 01 / 2026.

End date : 31 / 05 / 2026 (Study leave).

This position has been advertised in the Waikato region.

This role will commence at the beginning of 2026 and end on 31 May, 2026.ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee the English learning area, collaborating with a team in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.Contribute positively to students learning English; implement strong curriculum knowledge and effective classroom management.Support NCEA implementation and ensure alignment with school and departmental goals.Be collaborative, understand funding considerations, and stay organized in applying and managing English learning area activities.QualificationsFor overseas applicants : a three-year specialist degree at Level 7 with a one-year teacher training Level 7 qualification.NZ Teachers Council registration is advantageous.At least 5 years of classroom experience.Salary and conditions are based on the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement 2002–2025; salary range from $70,779 ($34.02 / hr) to $103,086 ($49.56 / hr).
