About The Role

The Risk and Policy Business Partner for supports the design, implementation, and future improvement of our organisational risk and compliance frameworks.

This includes proactively identifying areas of risk and mitigations, support of the policy development and reviews, compliance management obligations, and promotes a risk-aware culture throughout the organisation.

This is a cross-functional role that works closely with senior leadership, operational managers, and frontline staff.

Health and Safety Engineer

Duties

Maintain and monitor the organisation's risk registers via FlipView, support localised or programme-specific risk assessments.

Partner with managers to identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational, reputational, and strategic risks.

Track and manage compliance with relevant laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and internal policies.

Support with review of significant funding contracts and leases to ensure compliance.

Prepare regular reports for the Board, Leadership Team, and Audit and Risk Committee, and attend meetings as needed with guidance.

Demonstrate through actions commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Mission's values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapu and Mana Tika, Mana Orite.

Skills

At least 2–4 years' experience in a risk, compliance, internal audit, or regulatory advisory role.

A relevant tertiary qualification and / or equivalent experience.

Experience working within the ISO

• framework and any other related standards.

Proven experience applying te Tiriti o Waitangi into organisational practice.

Empathy and understanding of issues including impacts of colonisation on Maori, trauma, mental health, addiction, poverty, food insecurity and homelessness.

Skills, experience and knowledge may also be obtained from a number of different experiences.

For example, from paid work, voluntary work, work undertaken within your Church, Marae, or from specific iwi / whanau responsibilities.

Auckland City Mission - Te Tapui Atawhai supports Aucklanders in greatest need.

Our services have evolved as the city's social needs have changed, and we respond to these needs with care and compassion while advocating for a reality where there are : enough suitable homes, enough money for nutritious food, and easily accessible health care for all.
