About the role

You’ll be responsible for the construction and maintenance of overhead electricity lines and associated equipment up to 33kV, while supporting the safe delivery of projects and services. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a team environment, and wants to be part of a company where safety is the number one priority.

Key responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining overhead electricity lines and equipment to meet customer and network requirements.
  • Operating ground and structure-mounted electrical equipment associated with electric lines (up to 33kV).
  • Installing and replacing electricity network poles, structures, and overhead conductors.
  • Completing field paperwork, reports, and inspections accurately and on time.
  • Role-modeling Northpower’s values and safety-first culture.
  • Ensuring all work complies with HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment) standards.

About you

  • To be successful in this role, you’ll need :
  • EWRB Registration and current practising licence.
  • NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply (Distribution Live Line Stick) (Level 4) and (Distribution Live Line Glove and Barrier) (Level 5).
  • A current NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 2 desirable).
  • Experience working on electrical lines with a strong focus on safety.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform hands-on, practical work.
  • A proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
