Trusts And Grants Fundraiser

Join to apply for the Trusts And Grants Fundraiser role at Barnardos Aotearoa.

Maximise and grow Barnardos Aotearoa's fundraised income from trusts and grants.

Lead the development and execution of our trusts and grants programme, ensuring applications are compelling, timely, and aligned with Barnardos’ strategic goals. You’ll also manage reporting and audit requirements, maintain accurate records in our CRM system, and build strong relationships with funders and both internal and external stakeholders.

This role is a full-time (40 hours) opportunity based in Wellington or Christchurch. This is Fixed Term until September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new funding opportunities aligned with Barnardos’ kaupapa.
  • Develop a strategy that aims to maintain this critical revenue stream for Barnardos.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality applications with compelling cases for support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial and service information.
  • Be a point of contact for all donors.
  • Ensure a donor centric approach is followed.
  • Ensure timely reporting and fulfilment of accountability requirements.

Skills And Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in raising funds from trusts, foundations and institutions (essential).
  • 2+ years’ experience using The Raisers Edge database (preferred).
  • Experience in customer service and support (essential).
  • Knowledge of fundraising systems and processes (essential).Strong financial literacy, mathematical and budgeting skills (essential).
  • Tertiary qualification or significant training in a relevant field (preferred).
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s License (essential).
