Mo te turanga | About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Ranger with loads of practical skills to join our Operations team in maintaining high standards of care for our walking tracks and other facilities in our Auckland reserves.

As a Ranger, you'll work in a team of two, and at times with our wider operations team on other conservation tasks.

The role will be focussed on :

Keeping popular visitor sites such as Goat Island Bay (home to New Zealand's first marine reserve) looking their best for visitors.

Maintaining water and wastewater systems.

Keeping our walking tracks safe and up to standard.

Looking after historic places according to requirements for heritage sites.

This is a permanent, full-time role based out of Warkworth.

If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you :

Physically fit and able to walk long distances carrying tools and equipment

A range of practical skills

Experience and / or qualifications with motorised tools

High standards of care for outdoor facilities

Able to work with others in a small team

Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and work plans

A commitment to health and safety and a willingness to contribute to a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture

Full New Zealand driver's licence

Desirable certifications :

Chainsaw

4WD

Growsafe

First Aid

The salary range for this position is $60,703 to $66,911 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
