Are you an enthusiastic, experienced teacher looking for a rewarding role in a supportive rural community? Kuratau School (U3) invites applications for a permanent teaching position starting in 2026 ( start date can be flexible if needed ).

Imagine teaching where the lake and mountains are your backdrop. Our kura is nestled in a stunning natural environment, just 20 minutes from Tūrangi and an hour from Taupō, offering rich, hands‑on learning experiences inspired by our unique setting.

We’re looking for a teacher who :

• Builds strong, positive relationships with ākonga, whānau, staff, and the wider community.
• Communicates effectively and works collaboratively as part of a team.
• Demonstrates sound curriculum knowledge and applies effective pedagogies, with a strong emphasis on explicit teaching (including Structured Literacy).
• Notices, recognises, and responds to learners’ needs while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Is committed to ongoing professional learning and applying it in practice.
• Motivates learners to LEARN, GROW & LEAD with enthusiasm and a sense of humour.
• Enjoys working with a passionate team focused on causing learning for our tamariki.

Dependent on your skill set, this position may attract a fixed‑term management unit .

This position is eligible for the Teaching Bonding Scheme .
