We are looking for a Senior Category Manager to join our global Marketing team. This role is ideal for a commercially savvy marketing professional, with a passion for consumer brands, innovation and natural health.

Reporting to our Head of Marketing, this role will lead the development and execution of category and product portfolio strategies that drive consumer engagement and deliver commercial growth. You will be the key connector between our global markets, product, and marketing teams, ensuring our brand shows up consistently and powerfully across the world.

This role is a combination of strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and creativity. You will champion consumer insights, identify innovation opportunities, and drive category performance across both new and existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead category planning, portfolio management, and lifecycle optimization from innovation through to SKU rationalisation.
  • Translate consumer insights into marketing and product strategies.
  • Drive product launches and category initiatives.
  • Support the Head of Marketing with category direction, pricing, and performance tracking.
  • Manage cross‑functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate closely with in‑market teams across China, North America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
  • Champion sustainability and continuous improvement across the category.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in product / category management within FMCG / CPG (ideally with global or Asian / US exposure).
  • Proven success developing category strategies and consumer‑led marketing plans.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability with experience managing budgets and financial targets.
  • Confident communicator and influencer who can bring cross‑functional teams on the journey.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.
  • Passion for natural health, sustainability, and brand storytelling.

    Comvita embraces flexible working. This role will primarily allow you to work from home with 2 days a week in our Auckland office. Infrequent travel to our office in Paengaroa, BOP is expected.
