About The Role

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be a key executive team member, responsible for driving the financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and fostering a high-performance finance culture. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a central role in strategic planning, operational leadership, and commercial decision-making across Buddle Findlay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the firm’s financial strategy in alignment with strategic business goals
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Chief Executive, Board, and senior leadership team
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to inform strategic decisions
  • Ensure financial compliance, risk management, and optimal resource allocation
  • Collaborate with business leaders to drive efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth

About You

You are an experienced financial leader with a strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to influence at the executive level. You bring strategic thinking, operational rigour, and a collaborative leadership style.

Key Requirements

  • CA qualification (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role for a medium to large commercial enterprise
  • Demonstrated success as a strategic business partner to a Chief Executive or senior executives
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams (10+ staff)
  • Exceptional analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust across all levels
  • Commercially minded with a track record of driving business growth and operational improvement
