Our client is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Financial Controller to lead their finance function and help drive long-term financial sustainability and performance.

Reporting to the Group Manager Finance & Assurance, this pivotal leadership role oversees the effective delivery of finance, revenue, and accounting activities.

You will lead a capable team of finance professionals; including accountants, systems specialists, and project staff, ensuring excellence in financial operations, systems, and advice across the organisation.

You will play a key role in :

Developing and implementing financial strategies that ensure long-term stability and value for stakeholders

Leading annual and long-term financial planning processes, reporting, and treasury management

Driving process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and transparency

Overseeing audits, rating operations, insurance, and internal audit functions

Providing trusted financial insight and strategic advice to senior leadership and key stakeholders

About you

You are a confident and collaborative finance leader who brings strong technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a strategic mindset.

You can lead through change, influence decisions, and foster a high-performing, customer-focused finance team.

To be successful, you will bring :

A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics

Chartered Accountant (CA) membership or equivalent

10+ years' experience providing financial leadership and insight within complex organisations

Proven capability in management accounting, strategic planning, and risk management

Strong people leadership skills with a focus on mentoring, collaboration, and continuous improvement

An understanding of local government frameworks is preferred
