Job Description
We are seeking an Educational Development Consultant to join the Learning and Teaching Design | Ranga Auaha Ako team within the Education Office. This role plays a key part in supporting the University’s strategic education initiatives to enhance teaching quality and student learning outcomes.
As an Educational Development Consultant, you will provide expert advice and leadership in areas of pedagogy, curriculum development, assessment, and educational technology. You will design, deliver, and evaluate professional learning programmes—most notably the Teaching Well initiative—ensuring that teaching and teaching‑adjacent staff have access to transformative professional development opportunities.
You will collaborate with the Director of Learning and Teaching and work closely with colleagues across faculties to develop and deliver high‑quality learning activities and resources, and contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.
This is a full‑time, permanent position, 37.5 hours per week. The salary range for this role is $112,100 – $137,200, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the team
The Education Office leads the University’s strategic education initiatives, ensuring that teaching and learning are aligned with Taumata Teitei | Vision 2030 and Strategic Plan 2025.
Within this, the Learning and Teaching Design | Ranga Auaha Ako team supports academic staff across faculties in designing curricula that reflect the University’s Graduate Profile. The team also delivers large‑scale learning design support, curriculum initiatives, and innovative professional learning programmes to enhance the student learning experience across the University.

Experience in developing professional learning programmes or supporting academic development will be highly valued.
