La Trobe University is seeking a visionary leader to advance sport research in partnership with the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) who are the leading provider of high-performance programming for Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games athletes in Victoria. This prestigious role, co funded between La Trobe and the VIS, will drive research capacity and innovation, translating outcomes to benefit athletes and the broader sporting community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and develop strategic research objectives for VIS.
- Oversee all aspects of the VIS research program, including project management, funding acquisition, and stakeholder engagement.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive research environment, supporting professional growth and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Build strong partnerships across Victorian and Australian universities, and with industry stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration between VIS and La Trobe staff in high performance sport, athletic development, digital health, injury prevention, and athlete wellbeing.
- Supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) projects and mentor staff.
About You :
PhD or equivalent, with a distinguished record of internationally recognised research in high performance sport, athletic development, performance enhancement, injury prevention, and athlete wellbeing.Outstanding publication record in top-tier journals and conferences.Proven leadership in research teams and financial management of grants.Experience supervising Honours, Master’s, and PhD students to completion.Demonstrated ability to build research links with industry and external organisations.Commitment to reflective practice, collaboration, and fostering a safe, inclusive, high-performing culture.Essential Compliance :
