About the Role
An opportunity now exists for an Occupational Therapist to work within the Outpatient services at Burwood Hospital. In this role, you will work with referred patients who have a diagnosis of low vision, to enable optimum safety and function in the community.
You will work with clients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds and need to bring your holistic skills, enthusiasm and passion to achieve the best outcome for your patients.
Positioned in our outpatient service at Burwood Hospital, this role engages with patients to assess and optimise their function in the community who have Low vision. This role within the Low Vision clinic involves assessment in the clinic setting, prescribing technology and strategies for maintaining independence. This role involves assessing the clients in their own home.

Burwood Hospital offers the opportunity to be part of both the Low Vision team and the wider Occupational Therapy Department and take the opportunities to access professional development through in-service training and clinical supervision.

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist who will be able to demonstrate your excellent communication skills and build rapport with patients and their whānau. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following :
