About the Role
As a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with site leaders and the wider team to deliver impactful people initiatives that align with our company goals. This is a role where you’ll balance strategic projects with the day-to-day people and culture tasks that keep our operations running smoothly. You’ll also partner with leaders to give them the confidence and tools to navigate people processes effectively.
This role requires some flexibility with working hours. From time to time, you may need to start early or finish late to connect with our night shift team and ensure consistent support across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee & Industrial Relations : Provide expert guidance on ER / IR matters, manage union relationships, and support collective agreement negotiations.
- Business Partnering & Coaching : Build strong relationships with leaders, coach managers, and support change initiatives that align with company goals.
- Recruitment & Onboarding : Own end-to-end recruitment to deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
- People Processes & Administration : Oversee core HR processes while identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Exits & Offboarding : Manage exit processes with professionalism and provide insights to strengthen retention strategies.
- Training & Development : Support capability building initiatives and workforce planning to future proof our talent pipeline.
- Process Improvement & Systems : Be curious – challenge the status quo and find smarter ways to streamline HR operations.
- Culture & Engagement : Champion initiatives that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement.
- Compliance & Risk Management : Ensure HR practices meet legal and policy standards.
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience in HR advisory role.Strong knowledge of NZ employment law and industrial relations.Ideally experience working with unions and collective agreements.Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.A curious mindset and willingness to get involved at all levels.Solutions orientated approach with strong attention to detail.What You’ll Get in Return
