Are you a dynamic and skilled technology teacher ready to inspire students in a supportive, coastal environment?

Taipa Area School is seeking a dedicated hard materials / construction technology teacher to join our composite school located in the stunning Doubtless Bay, Northland. This full-time, permanent position involves teaching hard materials technology across our curriculum (wood, plastics, metal, possibly clothing) (Y7–13).Please also state other subject strengths.

The successful candidate will teach in a purpose-built technology facility (established in 2021) that has received significant investment over the past two years, featuring modern tools and machinery. This is an opportunity to provide students with valuable practical skills in a well-resourced environment.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will be a NZ-registered teacher or have relevant experience in both education and the trades sector. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand. When applying, please state any relevant strengths you possess or portfolios.

You will have :

• Sound NZ Curriculum knowledge of technology, particularly in hard materials, it may be an advantage if you could to teach BCITO Level 1, 2, and 3 standards.
• A proven ability to build strong relationships that foster student engagement and achievement.
• A commitment to integrating mātauranga Māori and increasing your knowledge of our local Māori context.
