About Us :

Hawkes Bay Mortgage and Insurance Limited (HBMI) was founded in 2017 by Paul Michaelsen, who brings over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. We operate under two brands – HBMI and NIMS (Nelson Insurance & Mortgage Services) – and serve clients throughout Hawke's Bay, Nelson, and across New Zealand. Due to ongoing growth and demand for quality financial advice, we’re looking for a motivated Mortgage Adviser to join our team.

About the Role :

In this role you will :

• Build strong relationships with clients to understand their financial position and goals
• Collect and manage documentation for mortgage applications
• Prepare and submit applications to banks and non-bank lenders
• Negotiate the best possible terms and gain approvals
• Liaise with solicitors, accountants, and other stakeholders
• Keep the CRM up to date and accurate
• Maintain lasting relationships with clients and lending institutions
• Receive some leads – but success in this role requires proactive lead generation through networking, referrals, and repeat clients
