We have a full-time, permanent senior teacher position commencing term 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

Students and staff at our progressive school are looking for an energetic, high quality experienced teacher to work with them. As a senior teacher the successful candidate will need to be highly relational, collaborative, and committed to empowering our Y7 and 8 learners, and provide support and direction for teaching colleagues.

The successful applicant will be a highly capable classroom practitioner who can inspire and lead others in refining their practice and embedding effective pedagogy. This is a critical appointment, and we are seeking someone who aligns with our strategic direction and commitment to continual improvement.

A key part of this role involves using coaching and mentoring to build teacher capability. This may be in pedagogical practice, curriculum competence and confidence or both depending on the strengths of the successful candidate. You will be well supported in developing and applying these leadership approaches.

The successful applicant will be able to build strong relationships with whānau, committed to being a learner themselves, and willing to contribute to our friendly and caring staffroom culture. Strong curriculum knowledge, coupled with awareness of the science of learning and structured pedagogies, is highly valued.

Contribution to our extensive extra-curricular programme is expected.
