Overview
Family Start is a free home-visiting programme where we support whānau who need tailored support and connect them with services that enable, bolster and support their confidence, wellbeing and safety of their tamariki.
We're recruiting for a permanent part-time (30 hours per week) Family Start Whānau Worker to support families based in Tauranga. We ideally look for 5 shorter days a week, typically 8 : 30–3 : 00 with some flexibility.
The opportunity
Working with approximately 12 whānau at a time, you will have the time and ability to truly make a difference. You will build relationships to understand their needs and work alongside to develop and review family / whānau plans. The steps you take alongside whānau might seem small but the impacts are great.
About you
You will be a reliable, empathic self-starter who has prior experience collaborating with colleagues and external providers from other disciplines. You will be a registered professional such as a social worker or a qualified teacher who is passionate about supporting whānau to be the best they can be.
