Commerical Sales Representative - South Island

We're on the hunt for a highly driven Commercial Sales professional to join our growing team based in the South Island.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Commercial Sales Representative, your primary purpose is to maintain and grow customer relationships that drive commercial sales revenue and market share in the Canterbury and greater SI region. You will manage a portfolio of existing commercial clients, build new business opportunities, and represent Stoney Creek with professionalism and integrity.

While your focus is commercial sales, you will also collaborate with our retail teams when needed—supporting shared initiatives, product launches, customer engagement activities, and providing product or market insights that strengthen our overall brand presence.

You will work closely with key internal stakeholders including the CEO, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Design, and Accounts Teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive regional sales revenue and expand commercial market share.
  • Support sales initiatives in other regions when required.
  • Grow and maintain strong relationships with existing and new commercial clients.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to potential clients in alignment with brand and marketing standards.

Cross-Functional Contribution (Retail & Brand)

  • Participate in photoshoots, content creation and marketing campaigns that support both commercial and retail channels.
  • Provide commercial insights that contribute to retail product planning, customer experience, and store support.
  • Collaborate with retail teams at events, trade shows and conventions when needed.
  • Planning, Reporting & Business Improvement

  • Assist with quarterly sales forecasts and the annual commercial sales budget.
  • Contribute to updating and improving SOPs for the commercial sales function, including technology adoption.
  • Submit timely weekly and monthly activity reports to the National Sales Manager.
  • Maintain strong reporting discipline in the commercial sales team.
  • Market & Product Knowledge

  • Stay current on product applications, competitive activity, technical developments and industry trends.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions as a brand ambassador.
  • Provide feedback on product development and identify new product ideas that address commercial customer needs.

    Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales or a role with transferable commercial relationship skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets or revenue goals.
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong self-management and time-management skills.
  • Passion, experience or understanding of rural, agricultural or commercial sectors.
  • Strong communication skills—clear, professional and adaptable.
  • High level of reliability, integrity, and accountability.
  • Tech-savvy with an interest in tools and systems that improve performance.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and a team-first mindset.
  • Additional Role Requirements

  • This is a remote role covering sales across a broad geographical region, requiring regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for events and key client commitments.
  • Full driver licence required.
