Job description

The Regional Business Administrator provides administrative and financial support for Barnardos Early Learning services at a regional level. In this varied role, you will work alongside a range of people across the business unit.

This is a part time (30 hours per week) 6-month, fixed term opportunity based in Christchurch.

Key responsibilities

Payroll processing and support
Management of accounts payable and receivables
Contribute to service planning and reporting
Maintain systems to ensure all personnel records are up to date
Organisation and coordination of meetings, travel arrangements, preparation of agendas and meeting papers and minute taking

Skills and experience

You will be an experienced, well‑organised, resilient Administrator with strong stakeholder management experience to succeed in this role. You will have :

Proven administrative experience (3–5 years), ideally in a senior role.

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a strong understanding of administrative systems.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Familiarity with accounts and payroll processes, and the ability to manage deadlines.

Understanding ofTeTiritio Waitangi and its application in everyday practice.

A full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence is essential.
