You will use your skills to provide laboratory diagnostic testing for hospital and community patients in Thames.Once fully trained, rostered shifts will include some evenings, weekends, and on call duties outside of regular hours.Join our friendly and supportive team, working across all areas of the laboratory at Thames Hospital.Click here to view the position description.About the Team / Service / LocationOur laboratory is an integral part of the wider laboratory services at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato, servicing inpatients, outpatients and community patients.
This part time position will supplement the current laboratory team of 13 staff.
The laboratory has up to date technology, and mostly performs analysis of Haematology and Biochemistry samples for hospital and community patients.
Lesser amounts of Microbiology and Transfusion Science are also performed on site.
In addition, the laboratory provides a phlebotomy service for hospital and community patients, and oversees Point of Care testing for clinical areas of the hospital.About youSkills and experience you will need to be considered for the role : Registration or eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences CouncilAbility to work independently as well as part of the teamAble to prioritise effectively and multi-taskLaboratory experience, particularly in a multidiscipline medical laboratoryWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
