  • Based out of our national office on Waterloo Quay, Wellington.

We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our financial accounting team.

This role will provide technical financial accounting expertise, counsel, support, advice and challenge to Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities.

We are looking for someone that can develop and interpret external and internal financial reporting, and has had exposure to, and an understanding of Crown reporting.A comprehensive understanding and ability to interpret Public Benefit Entity Accounting standards is crucial.

You will be able to mentor other members of the financial accounting team and constructively challenge other members of the team including the Manager, financial accounting.

  • Key to success in this role will be your ability to be proactive, to effectively influence others to facilitate the Continuous improvementAs our ideal candidate you will demonstrate :
  • Tertiary Degree in Accounting
  • CA or CPA Qualified with a minimum of 5 years practical experience
  • Substantial relevant experience in a financial accounting position
  • Proven experience in financial statement preparation and review
  • Strong knowledge of NZIFRS & IPSAS
  • Experience with CFISnet is highly desirable
  • Experience in financial reconciliations and reporting
  • Experience in treasury is desirable
