About the RoleAs Programme Lead – Fast Track Applications, you'll provide strategic oversight and technical leadership to ensure DOC's delivery under the FTAA is nationally consistent, efficient, and robust.
You'll lead the development of systems, operational policy, and guidance that support DOC's obligations and enable effective decision-making, at pace on high-profile applications.The Fast Track programme streamlines decision-making for projects of national significance, while ensuring environmental and conservation values are upheld.
DOC is responsible for a range of conservation approvals, including : Concessions for land under the Conservation Act, Reserves Act, Wildlife Act, and, in special cases, the National Parks ActAuthorities for actions that would otherwise be offences under the Wildlife ActPermissions under the Freshwater Fisheries RegulationsAccess arrangements under the Crown Minerals Act for activities on conservation landLand exchanges and amendments or revocations of conservation covenants under the Conservation and Reserves Acts.Your leadership will be critical in ensuring these approvals are managed with urgency, integrity, and consistency, and aligned with DOC's conservation mandate.Skills and ExperienceNga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and ExperienceLead the strategic design and implementation of systems, frameworks, and policy to support high-quality Fast Track deliveryProvide expert legislative and policy advice, ensuring alignment with DOC's obligationsCollaborate across teams to ensure seamless programme coordinationMentor and help lead a high-performing team, providing technical guidance and thought leadershipBuild strong relationships with Treaty partners, senior leaders, and stakeholders, while managing risks and informing decision-making.What We're Looking ForWhat We're Looking ForStrong knowledge of the FTAA, conservation legislation, and the Resource Management Act, with planning or RMA experienceProven leadership across complex programmes and high-profile applications with multi-disciplinary teamsStrategic thinker with sound judgement and a pragmatic approachSkilled communicator with experience in stakeholder engagement, training, and senior-level presentationsExperience with change management would be a bonusCollaborative and proactive leader with a track record of mentoring and continuous improvement.How to ApplyClick here to find the position description.What's in it for you?
