- We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compliance Officer to join our team in Safer drivers to investigate commercial driver licence and endorsement holders; and produce reports and recommendations to improve driver behaviour to achieve compliance through engagement, monitoring and drivers licence sanctions to reduce risk.This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team where you will learn from each other and build on each other’s strengths to work towards our team purpose. As a Senior Compliance officer you will :
- Manage a case load using data and insights and regulatory tools to assess commercial driver risk
- Address identified risk through deployment of appropriate compliance tools
- Make robust regulatory decisions or recommendations using experience, knowledge and high-quality decision making to hold people to account or to prevent harm from occurring
- Develop and manage effective relationships with relevant key stakeholders
- Deliver safety education and advice when requiredYou will find out more about the role .We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $91,328 to $111,622 commensurate to skills and experience.

- This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills who strives to reduce harm on NZ roads and is looking to take the next step in their career. To be successful in this role, you will bring :
- Experience in a regulatory, compliance and enforcement environment
- Strong critical thinking and experience in systems-based thinking
- Detailed understanding of regulatory principles and practices
- Strong investigative, risk assurance or audit experience
- Proven relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport and effectively manage a range of internal and external relationships
- You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
- Qualifications :
- The New Zealand Certificate in Regulatory Compliance (Level 3 Core Knowledge) or relevant experience in a regulatory or compliance role.The Safer Drivers team are the gatekeepers for assessing safety and harm of driver licence holders and course providers into the Land Transport system. We audit, monitor and if required exit any unsafe drivers or providers from the system to keep our roads safe.
