Senior Survey Expert / Plan Approver - Property Rights

• Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) has an opportunity for a Cadastral Survey Expert to join our team in the Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch office.

• The role of the Property Rights business group includes ensuring surveys being integrated into the cadastre satisfy the regulatory standards set by the Surveyor-General. A team of Customer Regulatory Specialists are trained in this work, supported in their technical knowledge by a group of Licensed Cadastral Surveyors.We are looking for a Survey Expert with relevant cadastral survey experience to join our team. You will have been actively involved in cadastral surveying and in the day-to-day application of the Cadastral Survey Rules.Your main focus will be on assessing and approving complex cadastral survey datasets (CSDs). As a “go-to” expert for survey advice, you will also be someone who is passionate about sharing your knowledge with LINZ staff to help build their capability. You will contribute towards driving continuous improvement, education and ensuring LINZ is providing outstanding customer service.

• To be successful in this role you will need :
• A National Certificate in Surveying (Level 3) or a NZ Diploma in Surveying (Level 3) or a Bachelor of Surveying from Otago University
• Work experience in the preparation of CSDs
• Exposure to complex cadastral survey elements and concepts including, for example, water boundaries, limited titles, and unit plans
• Knowledge of survey, title and deeds records, how to search them and apply the information in the assessment of CSDs
• Practical experience in the use of Landonline
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong relationship building skills and customer focusThe annual full-time salary range for this role is $105,000 to $120,000 depending on skills and experience.
