- About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical NurseManager(CNM) to lead our General Ward and CCU at Te Tai o Poutini.
Thisis an exciting opportunity to influence rural healthcare outcomes while workingalongside Operational Managers and the Nurse Director Operations to deliverhigh-quality, sustainable, and integrated care.The CNM will provide clinical leadership, workforce support,and operational oversight to ensure our patients receive timely,evidence-based, and culturally safe care.
This is a key leadership role,offering the chance to shape service delivery and drive excellence in ruralhealth outcomes, with a strong focus on equity for Maori.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support the operational management team to ensure safe staffing, positive work environments, and compliance with MECAs.Drive workforce sustainability initiatives, including recruitment, retention, succession planning, and growing the Maori nursing workforce.Provide strong clinical leadership to deliver safe, effective, equitable, and culturally competent care.Act as a change agent, leading sustainable service development in line with local and national strategies.Support service and practice development, embedding evidence-based and interprofessional models of care.Promote quality practice environments, professional accountability, and patient safety.Deputise as required, including Duty Manager on call responsibilities.Facilitate and supervise professional development of nursing colleagues.About YouWe are looking for a collaborative and resilient leader whocan inspire confidence, foster innovation, and promote culturally responsivepractice.You'll be passionate about advancing equitable outcomes for Maori andrural communities, while supporting your team to achieve excellence in caredelivery.
Essential RequirementsRegistered Nurse with current NZ Annual Practising Certificate (APC).Relevant postgraduate qualification (minimum Postgraduate Diploma or working towards completion).Minimum of 5 years' post-registration experience.Experience in CCU and medical or surgical nursing.Completion of, or commitment to, cultural competency training.Computer literacy (Microsoft Suite).Ability to work with children.DesirablePrevious experience in a senior nursing position.Current Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio.Postgraduate qualification (Masters or equivalent).Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.We embrace a workforce thatis diverse and inclusive so that we are better positioned to understand andservice our community.
