Bioinformatician (Digital Diagnostics), Dxd Hub

Agency for Science, Technology and Research – QueenstownWe are seeking an experienced Bioinformatics Scientist to support new diagnostics product development and support data analytics in software development for Software as a Medical Devices.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in driving the successful execution of diagnostic products in collaboration with external partners.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in bioinformatics and knowledge of biostatistics is highly preferred.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign, development and deployment of latest bioinformatics analysis pipelines for IVD development.Design, development and deployment of Bioinformatics pipelines in multi-omics data such as NGS processing, analysis, and reporting for IVD product development.Provide Bioinformatics analysis support for diagnostics assay product development.Provide Biostatistics analysis support for clinical study of diagnostics product development.Job RequirementsPhD or Degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on data analytics and machine learning in biological contexts.

1-3 years of experience or equivalent in industry settings.Proficient in working language with Python, R / Matlab.

Good knowledge of bioinformatics workflow languages such as Nextflow, Snakemake and Common Workflow Language (CWL).

Experience with biostatistical analysis and AI machine learning for biomarker identification and predictive model development.Experience with Biopython, Bioconductor, Linux and cloud-based deployment is advantageous.Knowledge of statistical software such as Minitab, R, SAS / STAT and SPSS, etc. is a plus.Experience with IVD (compliance, validation) is a plus.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
