As the Delivery Manager – Design & Estimation, you'll lead a team responsible for delivering accurate, high-quality designs and estimates for electricity distribution projects, including HV / LV networks, substations, and new connections.

Based in New Plymouth you will :

  • Lead a team of designers and estimators to deliver high-quality network designs.
  • Ensure all work meets the required standards while achieving performance and margin targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement through collaboration, coaching, and efficient project delivery.

The Role :

A key part of the Northpower team, you’ll provide leadership to our Design Estimators and engineers while driving high-quality outcomes across a wide range of projects. From HV and LV overhead and underground networks to substations, reinforcements, and new supply connections, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our design, estimates and proposals are delivered to the highest standards.

Based in New Plymouth you will :

  • Lead, coach, and empower a team of Design Estimators to achieve agreed utilisation and productivity targets.
  • Oversee the design and pricing of electricity distribution networks (HV / LV overhead and underground, substations, customer and capital works).
  • Ensure accurate pricing that reflects resource availability and meets margin targets.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders to resolve obstacles and deliver quality outcomes.
  • Drive compliance with Northpower, client, and industry standards including HSQE requirements.
  • Conduct project close-out reviews and implement improvement initiatives.

  • About You :

    To excel in this role, you will have :

  • Bachelor or Diploma in Engineering (or 10+ years equivalent industry experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of HV and LV overhead and underground design and standards
  • Knowledge of RFS proposals
  • Proven ability to lead and manage technical teams
  • Knowledge of design software packages used in the distribution industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Class 1 Drivers Licence
