Overview

Talent and Workplace Solutions | Recruitment Team Leader at Drake

Our client is a Māori organisation that responds to community needs and vulnerable whānau. This non-profit organisation is committed to improving the lives of tangata and whānau who are in the justice system and are now inspired to disrupt the pipeline of disadvantage for the next generation. They offer services within the health, housing, education, youth, family and employment sectors.

A key role within this community organisation has become available, and they are now looking for an experienced Financial Accountant or someone who is ready to move into this level and take full ownership of the financial functions of the organisation.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for the full day to day accounts activity
  • Payroll functions
  • Month-end accounting including balance sheet reconciliation
  • Reporting for management and cost centre managers
  • Filing GST and PAYE returns
  • Assisting the CFO and the Accountant with ad hoc tasks
  • Support with annual budgeting, forecasting and audits
  • Reporting to the CFO with two direct roles under - Finance Administrator and Payroll Administrator
  • Full time permanent position 40 hours a week with some flexibility

Our Ideal Candidate

  • You will be an accounting professional with at least two years of experience
  • Previous experience using Xero and Employment Hero is an advantage
  • You will be confident with employment law and leading a team
  • A tertiary education in accounting is required
  • A strong communicator and strong relationship management skills
  • You will have experience of working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • You will have commitment and understanding of Tikanga Māori cultural values, processes and principles
