The cook is responsible for delivering good standards of kitchen control and well-cooked food of menu items and to provide an efficient and cost-effective food service for the establishment.ResponsibilitiesEnsure efficiency of the shop and good cooperation with general management of the business.Ensure legislative compliance of the shop, including supervision of staff and the operation of the business.Maintain good kitchen skills.Coordinate the work of the kitchen staff and direct the preparation of meals, overseeing kitchen operations to ensure food quality and presentation.Set standards, schedule, monitor and train staff to achieve high standards.Assess staff performance reviews and coordinate with the general manager in the recruitment and discharge of employees.Support staff in daily activities and step in or cover when required.Be responsible for facility and equipment maintenance to a certain standard on day-to-day running.Order and control stock budgeting.Work out food and labour costs, eliminate wastage and resolve any problems.Maintain good flair and imagination in menu planning.Recommend promotion plans and follow up promotion activities to achieve sales targets.Resolve all customer complaints in a manner that enhances the reputation and standard of the business.Employment DetailsDuration and type of employment : Permanent Full-time.Pay rate : NZD Minimum $
