Burger King NZ is now 100% kiwi-owned and we\'re all about growth and creating a great place to work. We are on the hunt for a couple of Shift Managers at our BK Restaurants in East Auckland (Highland Park, Panmure & Botany Downs).

You must be able to work some night and weekend shifts!

Responsibilities

  • A hands-on position; you will also work to make and serve big, bold, delicious burgers to everyone.
  • Supervise a small team of Fast Food workers (Cooks & Kitchen Hands) and support them to be successful by coaching, ensuring breaks are taken, etc.
  • Ensure that all operational standards are met, including food safety, quality and customer measures.
  • Problem-solve issues that arise and escalate to experts as required, e.g. if kitchen machinery requires repairing.
  • Ensure the Health & Safety of all employees.
  • Assist with promoting restaurant profitability, e.g. focus on costs and maximizing customer opportunities.

What we offer you

  • Permanent employment
  • Salary : $59-62K gross per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • Guaranteed hours of 40 hours per week to be worked over any 5 days of the week, Monday to Sunday.
  • Hours and days of work will depend on the rostered shifts you are assigned.
  • Additional hours, if agreed, are also paid (hours over 80 per fortnight).

  • Requirements

  • At least 1 year of team management experience and oversight of the duties of Team Members in Fast Food or similar food, Hospitality or Retail environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to create a positive culture and working environment.
  • Experience onboarding new employees and with staff training and motivation (advantage).
  • Unpacking stock deliveries and inventory (involves heavy lifting).
